Amsterdam, October 24th - Most have already heard the news. Everyone is talking about the party of the year and a party that simply cannot be missed. Caspar Povel – dance organiser UDC’s marketing brain – and Giovanni – fitness guru and former dance instructor – will pull out all the stops to celebrate their birthdays on 24 November in the spectacular renovated Marcanti in Amsterdam.
The birthday celebration promises to be a hip, sexy, groovy, stylish, sleazy, glamorous and killer party with surprise performances, special dance acts and sets by a number of famous as well as up-and-coming DJs. The guests represent a multicoloured group of the most diverse people ever seen at one party, including friends and acquaintances, DJs, media types, designers, dancers, Dutch celebs, producers, artists, suits, freaks, beautiful people, ugly people, single income earners, double-income couples, no income couples and singles, and many more motley folks.
Right now, lots of blood, sweat and tears are flowing behind the scenes in order to make this birthday bash an event that will go down in history. All of our efforts are intensely focused on bringing the theme of the party to life, namely to re-live the good old days. This promises to be a wild trip down memory lane without getting bogged down in nostalgia, with the goal being to stay focused on the future. We will take the unique and creative vibe that was everywhere in the Dutch club scene in the early 1990s and bring it into the present with plenty of style and thrills.
The early 1990s were a time when everyone simply could not wait until the next party every single week; after all, back then going out was more than just another night on the town. Back then, parties were still utterly unique, the dance scene had yet to splinter off into dozens of little cliques and genres, and everyone—regardless of their incredibly diverse backgrounds—came together on the dance floor. This is exactly the kind of event we have in mind for 24 November: to party like there is no tomorrow!
