Castlevania weekend prohibited by local government.

The weekend of the 14th & 15th of October we should have witnessed a special happening in and around Kasteel de Berckt with the Castlevania convention weekend taking place. Especially for the real Hardcore Music Fans, all the great names were invited and brought together in the ancient setting of a castle. For example 75% of the Dreamteam (Buzz Fuzz, Dano & Gizmo) should have rocked the place as they did in The Heineken Music Hall before. Everywhere they show up, you can expect a large number of dedicated fans. As you all know Holland is the foremost leader in Hardcore.

For the Artists as well as the hardcore music fans, this weekend was seen as a hardcore reunion with lots of additional activities and workshops.. People & more than 60 artists from over 12 countries were about to visit Baarlo this weekend.

This well planned and well organized happening was reported to the local authority ?Peel & Maas? months ago. Less than 1 week ago the Castlevania Weekend was prohibited by Local authorities of Baarlo and they issued a penalty of ? 200.000,- to be payed by Kasteel de Berckt if the event was to take place.

After intense negotiations between the district ?Peel & Maas?, Kasteel de Berckt and the event organization on Monday and Tuesday, the local Authorities refused to approve the event in it?s original form and therefore prohibited it from taking place.

Kasteel de Berckt and the Event organization regret the way things are being dealt with hugely and leave us totally speechless, but there is no other way then to resign ourselves to the decision of the local authorities in Baarlo.

All the People who already bought their event tickets will be personally informed by Email and will receive their money back from Ticketscript as soon as possible.
